Beyond the Basics
These classes are designed for advanced ESL students and are offered through Wake Technical Community College’s Continuing Education department at locations within Wake County. They address special areas of focus, i.e. Oral Communications and Writing Skills and vary from semester to semester. There is a small fee for these classes.
EFL
English as a Foreign Language classes are offered through the Curriculum department at Wake Technical Community College. These classes prepare students with academic English skills for those who want to study at the college level. There are admission requirements and tuition fees for these classes. Credit and Academic Visas are available.
ABE/GED
ESL students who want to continue to develop their English proficiency or to prepare to take the GED test may join native English speakers in these classes. The GED is a high school equivalency diploma and covers Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies.
Ed2Go
These are on-line classes offered through Continuing Education at Wake Technical Community College. Currently, Ed2Go is offering, “Grammar for ESL.”

EL/Civics Blog
The EL/Civics Blog at Wake Technical Community College is designed to encourage student participation in the community and to offer additional opportunities for students to develop their English skills. This site is open to all second language learners and adult ESL teachers.
